Hyundai Automotive South Africa, together with Beekman Super Canopies, is assisting with much-needed food relief to those in need during the COVID-19 pandemic through donations to Gift of the Givers and FoodForward SA.
Hyundai generously donated five H100 trucks, one H-1 Bus, and two Grand i10 Panel Vans for Gift of the Givers and FoodForward SA to use when taking food to communities where families have no income due to COVID-19. Beekman has equipped the H100 trucks with closed canopies, to ensure the load stays safe while being transported.
The initiative forms part of Hyundai’s global drive to make a difference in the lives of those who are being affected by the pandemic.
Gift of the Givers was started by Dr. Imtiaz Sooliman in 1992 as a non-governmental organisation. The organisation helps to provide impoverished children and families who are suffering.
FoodForward SA was established in 2009 to address the widespread hunger South Africa faces. With a permit to remain open during the lockdown, they have been working with a range of social partners to feed households in dire need of assistance.
