Over the last 12 months, the world has changed a lot but our desire to explore and enjoy ourselves has not. South African’s are looking to our beautiful country to take that little break from it all. Hitting the road with your bakkie and Beekman Super Canopy is a great way to get out and explore!
Prepare your vehicle
First thing’s first: Before hitting the road one needs to make sure your bakkie and canopy are both ready for the trip. If your vehicle is not in the right condition, you won’t get very far or even worse, could be liable for an accident. If your vehicle is due for a service, take it in before your leave. After that walk around the vehicle and inspect your tyres to ensure they have enough tread, also check oil, water, battery, and your spare tyre.
Plan your stops with COVID-19 in mind
While one can book a guest house away from the crowds to be safe, food breaks might be a bit different. The easiest thing to do in terms of food breaks is to see which restaurants are compliant or with outdoor seating and make use of them. If you need to stop over for the night, simply enquire about the safety precautions the hotel or lodge has implemented.
Remember the essentials
Going on holiday is exciting but don’t let that excitement make you rush packing the essentials. Masks, hand sanitiser are a must along with a basic first aid kit and a space blanket. Water and a power bank are also great in case of an emergency and lastly don’t forget your camera!
